Today's Hadith

Once I came riding a she-ass and I, then, had just attained the age of puberty. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was leading the people in prayer at Mina facing no wall. I passed in front of the row and let loose the sheass for grazing and joined the row and no one objected to my deed.

— Sahih al-Bukhari · Hadith 840

Prayer Time Questions, Answered

How are prayer times calculated on this site?

Prayer times are calculated from each city's coordinates using a recognized Islamic prayer calculation method. By default, this site uses the Muslim World League method with the Standard (Shafi'i) setting for Asr.

Can I browse by country or by city?

Yes. You can browse country directories to explore Islamic regions and Muslim communities, or open individual city pages to see today's prayer schedule, qibla direction, and the weekly timetable.

What do city pages focus on?

City pages focus on local daily salah times, qibla direction, weekly schedules, and links to nearby or related locations. The home page gives a broader starting point for finding the place you need.

Why do prayer times change slightly from day to day?

Prayer times follow the position of the sun, so they naturally shift throughout the year. Even in the same city, Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha can move a little each day.

Are daily salah schedules the same across all cities in one country?

No. Daily salah schedules can vary from one city to another because of differences in latitude, longitude, elevation, and local time zone rules. That is why each city has its own dedicated page.

Can I change the calculation method or time format?

Yes. Use the configuration settings to switch the calculation method, choose the juristic rule for Asr, and display times in either 12-hour or 24-hour format.

How does the site choose my location on the home page?

If you allow location access, the site tries to match you with the nearest covered city. If location access is unavailable, it falls back to your browser time zone and the closest supported location.

What does the qibla direction panel show?

The qibla panel shows the direction from your selected city toward the Kaaba in Makkah. It helps you quickly confirm the bearing before prayer when you are at home, traveling, or in a new city.
